Productivity and convenience are improved with artificial intelligence (AI), unmanned operations and automation by incorporating ICT in agriculture. Through this, we laid a foundation for smart agriculture of Gangwon and are training professional manpower.
For the realization of future science and agriculture, Agircultural Research & Extension Services cllects manages full cycle data to secure agricultural data, analyzes production factors using a comprehensive information and communication technology(ICT) control system, and provides consulting at agriculture sites based on standardized data. In additon, smart agriculture testbeds are created in city and county agaricultural research centers to cultivate professional manpower and lead the growth of innovative smart agriculture in Gangwon State.

Utilization of Agricultural Bio-resources and Industrialization of Biomaterials
To increase the income of farmers, we are strengthening the connection between agriculture and the biomaterials industry using agricultural bioresources and developing pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and industrial materials for the industrialization of agricultural products.
New growth power is created through green bio convergence industrialization using genetic resources owned by Gangwon State. We are promoting the development of healty and functional materials using indigenous hard kiwi, potatoes, purple corn, etc. and the industrialization of domestically grown spice ingredients.

Development and Commercialization of Eco-friendly and Low-carbon Agricultural Technologies
Gangwon State is Korea's number one eco-friendly region. It preserves the environment and distributes safe produce production technology to pursue sustainable agriculture. Also, it is expanding pilot projects for major crops to develop and commercialize low-carbon agricultural technomogies.
There is a comprehensive testing laboratory, safety analysis laboratory, and microorganism cultivation center in the state to produce eco-friendly agricultural products, and changes in agricultural soil and agricultural water quality are monitored to suppoπ stable production technology. We are developing commercial biochar technology and practicing intermittent drainage in rice paddy fields to disseminate low-carbon agricultural technology and operating an agricultural byproduct chipping team to support the difficulties faced in agricultural sites.
